The Cherokee believe that life goes in cycles of 14 generations and each generation affects the following generations. According to legend, the demise of the Cherokee would result if they forgot their language and culture 14 generations after their arrival in the Indian Territory.

The 14th Generation exhibit will attempt to communicate the importance of continuing and sharing Cherokee traditions and language for future generations.
