The
Trail of Tears Exhibition, is located at the Cherokee Heritage Center,
in Tahlequah, OK.
The
project mandates included groundbreaking Universal Design principles
and telling the story from a Cherokee perspective. The exhibit uses
traditional exhibitry methods to present this perspective along
with the theatrical audiovisual techniques of object theater and
Pepper's Ghost.
The
exhibit explores the forced removal of their ancestors from their
indigenous territory to "Indian Territory" through six galleries:
