Maple and Associates   Tumacácori

Tumacácori National Historical Park in the upper Santa Cruz River Valley of southern Arizona is comprised of the abandoned ruins of three ancient Spanish colonial missions.

Tumacácori tells the story of the first Europeans who came to southern Arizona and of the native people who lived there then.

The Museum/Visitor Center is a unique structure. Not only is it a fine example of Mission Revival architecture, but also it is constructed as an interpretive device so that visitors can better understand the architectural sense and history of this park's prime resource.

The exhibit is scheduled for completion in 2008. The theme of “always changing—forever the same,” is interpreted in four galleries:

  • The Land of Five Seasons
  • The Jesuit Era
  • The Franciscan Era
  • The Church
