Visitor Centers typically accompany a site landmark or point of interest. This can be anything from a national monument to a corporate manufacturing facility. Visitor Centers differ from museums in that they are not usually collection-based nor do they have an ongoing research and education staff. Interpretation tends to be less in-depth to accommodate reduced visitor stay time.
