The historic ranch and barn buildings are utilized to interpret the historic farm site, equipment, and life of the Hurst Family.
A community historical museum showcasing the Hurst family collection, the Ranch also includes the strongest gun and tobacco collection on the West Coast. The finished project features a barn interior exhibit highlighting daily farm life and a community center presenting a "regional roots" theater.
With large-scale historical photos and interpretive text for support, each artifact and object is something children can try out for themselves. Some of the objects at the Ranch are an integral part of the surroundings, while others enhance or interpret the environment.
